State Board Chair Hilda Pinnix Ragland has appointed State Board member Herbert Watkins of Richfield to chair the committee. Other committee members are:
Norma B. Turnage of Rocky Mount, vice chair
Dr. Bob Greene of Winston-Salem
G. Gordon "Buddy" Greenwood of Asheville
Anne-Marie Knighton of Edenton
Dr. Linwood Powell of Fayetteville
John Q. Shaw of Dunn
Student member Bently Pagura from Alamance Community College
Richard Sullins, executive director of the State Board, and David Sullivan, assistant to the president for legal affairs, are staff support. Questions about the search should be directed to Mr. Sullivan. The Search Committee has retained Gold Hill Associates of Asheville to assist in the search.
