Celebrating 40 years of "College That Works" for North Carolina

STATE BOARD OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES TO HOST JOINT EDUCATION BOARD MEETING IN SURRY COUNTY

RALEIGH: The state’s top education officials will gather in Dobson, North Carolina on the campus of Surry Community College. The State Board of Community Colleges hosts the 14th Annual Meeting of the North Carolina Education Boards on Wednesday, February 19 at Surry Community College. The Education Cabinet meets at 10:00 AM, followed by the Joint Board Meeting.

The meeting’s theme is "The Role of Education in Economic Recovery." Among the presenters are Billy Ray Hall, president of the Rural Economic Development Center, Inc., who delivers the keynote address at 3:15 PM.

In addition to H. Martin Lancaster, President of the North Carolina Community College System, University of North Carolina System President Molly Broad, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Mike Ward, and Dr. A. Hope Williams, North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities President, will also participate.

The State Board of Community Colleges will meet on Thursday, February 20, also in Dobson.. The complete agenda follows.
