State Board of Community Colleges group to meet with State Auditor
RALEIGH - When an Audit |Report regarding Halifax Community College was released last year, Auditor Les Merritt also made recommendations to the State Board of Community Colleges regarding its operations: http://www.ncauditor.net/EPSWeb/Reports/PressReleases/PRS-2005-010.pdf . State Board Chair Hilda Pinnix-Ragland appointed a Task Force to consider and respond to those recommendations.
That group will meet with Auditor Merritt on Wednesday, February 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the State Board Room of the Caswell Building. Merritt will discuss the rationale for his recommendations made to the State Board and answer any questions that the Task Force may have.
Task Force members:
State Board of Community Colleges: Joanne Steiner (Task Force Chair), The Honorable Jimmie Ford, and Dr. Linwood Powell
NC Association of Community College Presidents: Dr. Larry Norris (Fayetteville Technical Community College) and Dr. Ed Wilson (Wayne Community College)
NC Association of Community College Trustees: George Little (Sandhills Community College) and Talmage Penland (Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College)
NC Community College System Office Staff: Kennon Briggs, Vice President for Business and Finance, Richard Sullins, Executive Director of the State Board and Executive Assistant to the President, and David Sullivan, Assistant to the President for Legal Affairs.
