1. What is the difference between a course "correction" and a course "revision" (for curriculum courses)?
A course CORRECTION / EDIT is the result
of System Office (SO) staff accessing a curriculum course in Colleague to either:
1) fix an error, or
2) make an edit (such as adding a state level end date).
Colleague automatically uploads the "corrected / edited" course to each college's
queue. SO staff will send a notice to the CC CIS CU PROGRAMS list
informing college staff to run XUIC do download the corrected / edited
course into the local library.

A course REVISION is the result of
Curriculum Review Committee (CRC) action. The process begins when a
community college submits a request to revise an existing curriculum course.
The college's request is taken before the CRC for a vote. If the CRC approves
the course
revision, the result will be a newer course version being added to the
Combined Course Library.
The newer course version will be added to
Colleague at the System Office. When the newer course version is saved at
the SO, Colleague automatically uploads the newer course version to each
college's queue. SO staff will "edit" the previous course version by
adding a state level end date in Colleague. As SO staff saves each edit in
Colleague, Colleague automatically uploads the newer course version to each
college's queue.
SO staff will send a notice to the CC CIS CU PROGRAMS list informing college
staff to run XUIC to download all the courses that are waiting in the
college's queue due to CRC action.
