Proprietary Schools

What is a "Proprietary School"?

Proprietary Schools are for-profit businesses which provide vocational education and training.  They may be privately owned, a partnership or a corporation.

Under Article 8 of North Carolina General Statutes 115D, the State Board of Community Colleges, acting by and through the State Board of Proprietary Schools, is charged with the responsibility of licensing proprietary schools in North Carolina.
