What is a "Proprietary School"?
Proprietary Schools are for-profit businesses which provide education and training. They may be privately owned, a partnership or a corporation.
Under Article 8 of North Carolina General Statutes 115D, the State Board of Community Colleges is charged with the responsibility of licensing certain proprietary business, trade, and correspondence schools in North Carolina.
