In collaboration with local public school systems, this program allows learners aged 16 and up to earn an Adult High School diploma.

The NC Community College System, in partnership with local public school systems, offers the Adult High School (AHS) program for adults and minors who are 16- or 17-years old seeking an AHS diploma.

This program delivers a curriculum aligned with adult education, literacy activities, and other core programs.  A key component is the development of career pathways, granting AHS students access to employment and training services.  All course and graduation standards are consistent with those set by the State Board of Education, local education agencies, and community colleges.

The AHS diploma is jointly issued by the local boards of education and community college trustees, with the community college retaining and providing all records and transcripts for the awarded AHS diplomas.

Credit Requirements
