The Staff Person of the Year
Award was established in 2001 to recognize excellent
performance and commitment to the community college mission by the
non‑teaching staff of the 58 institutions of the North Carolina
Community College System and the System Office. The Staff
Award winner receives a cash prize of $8,000, a certificate and a
plaque. In addition, the foundation of the institution where the
recipient is employed receives a cash prize of $2,000. BB&T sponsors
this award.
