RALEIGH – The State Board of Community Colleges will hold its regularly scheduled meeting, Thursday and Friday, February 19 and 20, 2015, in Raleigh unless continued adverse weather conditions necessitate a telephonic meeting.

The Board will convene Thursday at 12 p.m. to hear a presentation on the Higher Education Economic Impact Study conducted by Economic Modeling Specialists International.  The study is a comprehensive study of the economic impact of higher education in North Carolina.

Committee meetings begin at 1:30 p.m.  The Programs Committee will take action on two articulation agreements between North Carolina’s community colleges and the University of North Carolina system. The first is a uniform articulation agreement between Associate Degree Nursing programs/Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs. The second is a uniform articulation agreement between Baccalaureate Engineering programs and Associate in Engineering programs.  The Policy Committee will hear a legislative update. The Finance Committee will take action on the process to periodically revise course tier designations.

The full Board will convene Friday at 9 a.m. All meetings are open to the public and will take place or, in the case of a telephonic meeting, will originate, at the NC Community College System Office, 200 W. Jones Street in Raleigh. If weather or safety conditions prevent the meeting from being originated in the System Office, a public call-in telephone number will be made available via a future media release and on the System’s website, www.nccommunitycolleges.edu.
