Community College to host Distance Learning Alliance
Conference Registration period now open - www.dlalliance.orgRALEIGH: Registration is open for the North Carolina Distance Learning Alliance 2004 Conference, to be held on location at Fayetteville Technical Community College, March 10-12, 2004 and over the NC Information Highway. The conference theme is "Using Blended Media to Enhance Learning."
Distance Learning enrollment figures at North Carolina’s community colleges have shown impressive growth over the last few years. The number of students learning on-line, on the Information Highway, and with telecourses grew from 33,000 in 1998-99 to close to 112,000 in 2002-03. Comprehensive course development of the Virtual Learning Community and the dedicated instructors and staff providing distance learning services have contributed to that exponential growth. The Distance Learning Alliance Conference provides instructors and others an opportunity to enhance their skills by learning the latest techniques, sharing best practices, and networking.
The conference will employ blended technology delivery for conference sessions. Video conferencing, video streaming, video archiving and interactive on-line resources will be available for accessing several sessions.
The conference promises to offer cutting-edge information. Topic tracks and focus areas include teaching methods using blended technology, on-line instruction, and digital broadcast technology. Professionals are encouraged to attend. A complete agenda and registration information are available online at the conference Web site at www.dlalliance.org. For more information, contact Cindy Pannill, North Carolina Distance Learning Alliance Conference Planning Committee: pannillc@nccommunitycolleges.edu or (919) 807-7062.
