Community College mummy to scare up attention at the General Assembly
RALEIGH: Where can you learn film and video production techniques in North Carolina? North Carolina School of the Arts? UNC-Wilmington? Add Piedmont Community College to that list!
The Film and Video Production Technology Program taught at the Yanceyville (Caswell County) Campus of Piedmont Community College in Roxboro wants to make sure the North Carolina General Assembly knows what they offer and hopes to grab their attention with their very own mummy, built at PCC.
The PCC demonstration at the General Assembly will feature props, including a sarcophagus from a fall school production, "Conversation with a Mummy," and will let lawmakers to see themselves on television.
The demonstration is the latest in the list of Legislative Days sponsored by the North Carolina Community College Faculty Association (NCCCFA). The presentation takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 in the North Lobby of the Legislative Building.
The demonstrations sponsored by the NCCCFA are designed to reinforce the value and showcase the variety of programs offered at the 58 community colleges. Community college faculty and professional staff are hoping this year will bring a long overdue and much needed salary increase for them.
