The System Office administration created the MVP Award as an opportunity for members of the community college family to recognize System Office staff members who go beyond their expected job duties, provide extraordinary service and technical assistance, and are positive leaders or team players.
Employees may be nominated by a System Office peer, an employee of a NC Community College, a trustee or a State Board member. Nominations are accepted before the 15th of each month.

The Karen Yerby Award (N4CSGA)
Charletta Sims Evans, N4CSGA Trustee and Associate Director
Student Leadership & Development, received the 2011
Karen
Yerby Award. Yerby has been a dedicated advisor to the
N4CSGA. The Karen Yerby Award is presented to the individual who has
been of the greatest assistance to the N4CSGA. The recipient may be a
student, advisor, college representative, or community member who has
given of his or her time to see the N4CSGA reach new levels.

The Richard Caswell Award Program, established in January 1998, for state employees with 45 or more years of service, is designed to acknowledge and express appreciation for noteworthy extended dedicated service.
System Office employee Bobbie Lancaster was presented the Caswell Award Tuesday, January 18 at a ceremony held at the Department of Administration. In March, Bobbie will begin her 47th year of service for the North Carolina Community College System.

Robyn Render Endeavor Award
At the Community Day 2010 Awards held in November, Dr. Bill

Robyn Render Endeavor Award recipients included Greg Dillingham, Distance Learning Services Manager, UNC Asheville; Pam McKirdy, Associate Vice President for Technology at Greensboro College; and Bill Randall, Associate Vice President for Learning Technology Systems for the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS). This award was renamed in 2010 and created to honor champions and supporters in the NCREN community who were instrumental in the evolution, direction, and success of NCREN. Current and previous recipients have contributed to the development of NCREN over a long period.
Dr. Randall joins an esteemed group of North Carolinians who have demonstrated distinguished service and commitment to NCREN over the years, including former N.C. Gov. Jim Hunt; Jane Smith Patterson of e-NC; Alan Blatecky, NCREN’s first vice president, A. Hope Williams, president of N.C. Independent Colleges and Universities, and 2009’s winners Phil Emer, Chief Operating Officer at Virtual Interactive Intelligence Systems, and John Streck, Executive Director for Communications Technologies at UNC-Chapel Hill.
