Dr. Jimmie Williamson took office as the System President on July 1, 2016, and his first employee meeting was held on July 6.   President Williamson told the group that his goal is to make sure the System Office is a “value-add” to the System.  He stated, “If we are not adding value to the System and the colleges,  we have no role.”  President Williamson said he plans to visit each of the 58 community colleges from Murphy to Manteo and that one of his roles will be resource development. He wants to connect with business and industry to determine how the System can best meet their needs.  President Williamson named Jennifer Haygood, EVP and CFO, as his new Chief of Staff and honored employees who were celebrating their service anniversaries at the System Office.
