FAQ

How does  the "O" status negatively impact the community colleges?
Obsolete courses are locked which means that sections cannot be built on obsolete courses and obsolete courses can not be added to Colleague programs of study.

Help, students are trying to register for a courses with O status, but the course is locked

If a college has built sections on a course that has received O status, students will not be able to register.  Colleges should send an email to Kimberly Pearce at pearcek@nccommunitycolleges.edu if students needs to register for a course with "O" status.

How colleges can prevent building sections on courses with O status or pending O status

After a CU course is assigned O status, that course becomes locked.  Colleges should always be aware of whether a CU course that is being chosen for building sections and  building programs of study has a state level end date.   Use this spreadsheet to check a CU course's state level end date.
