Andrew Marshall

Inspired by my mother's success, I chose Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (A-B Tech) because I needed an affordable way to find my path in life. Here, I met supportive, caring teachers who encouraged me to pursue psychology and creative writing, my two greatest passions. I have been consistently challenged by my professors and have begun to cultivate a life of leadership. Serving as president of our Phi Theta Kappa chapter has been an enriching and challenging time in my life, teaching me time management, compassion, and organizational skills I would never have had the chance to learn without attending A-B Tech.

I am thankful for the opportunities my community college has provided me. I am on the path to becoming the man I want to be as I set my goal towards a career in psychology. The encouragement and support I have received from faculty and staff at A-B Tech have provided that path to a better future, one greater than I had thought possible. They have recognized my talents and abilities, nominating me for Jack Kent Cooke and Phi Theta Kappa scholarships. I have the hope of continued success.
