Deciding to come to Craven Community College has proved to be one of the best choices I could have made for myself and for my future. When I enrolled with Craven, my mother had just divorced my step-father, and my home life and finances were unstable. Craven provided me with an encouraging and uplifting support system through its curriculum, clubs, organizations, and student services.

I immediately became active in a number of programs and events: study abroad, student ambassadors, honor society, TRiO student services, transfer programs, supplementary instruction, C-STEP, and more. I currently hold leadership positions in multiple clubs and actively support the college and larger community with service and charitable events. I tutor and serve as a role model for others in my college and community.

Over the last two years, I have discovered a passion for learning and an enthusiasm for working with others, something I would have never found if I had not come to Craven. I have grown not only as a student, but also as a community member and a global citizen. My experience has been life changing, and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
