I came to Central Piedmont Community College as a student who hadn't had much success in school before. I realized that CPCC was my second chance to prove to everyone, including myself that I could do well in school and I took my classes more seriously than ever before.
In Fall of 2007 I joined the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, It was my first time feeling successful at school and I was eager to get involved. I quickly found myself in a leadership position with PTK and began working with student organizations such as the Student Government Association and Service Club. In Fall of 2008 I became the President of the Phi Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and was accepted into the CPCC Student Leadership Academy.
Although CPCC might have been my only option at the time, I am so thankful that it is where I went for school. My experience here has truly exceeded my expectations. CPCC has opened doors for me that did not exist before and I feel confident about my future because of everything I have learned through my classes being involved with Student Life.
