Lindsay Hewett
Lindsay Hewett is the owner of Lockwood Folly Marketplace, a specialty food and gift store featuring locally grown products and local artisans. Lindsay is a frequent student of the BCC Small Business Center, where she has taken classes ranging from marketing to utilizing QuickBooks. She credits her attendance at the Disney Institute program, brought to Brunswick County by the BCC Small Business Center, with teaching her the true definition of customer service.
Lindsay's experience with BCC did not begin with the Small Business Center, though. She was actually a dual-enrolled high school student and earned 25 transfer credits during her senior year in 2002. When she started attending NC State University after high school, she was already a member of the sophomore class. Lindsay says, "I wanted to use my time wisely and take advantage of the many resources on campus. The student-teacher ratios were excellent! I would recommend everyone take their basic/core classes at a local community college."
