Looking For More "Fulfilling" Work Brought This Student to BCC
Laura Inman holds two BA's, one in English and one in Communications, but was unable to find work in these fields without a teaching certificate or master's degree. She went to work as a consultant and manager for several investment groups but found the work unfulfilling. "I had always wanted to be in the medical profession, so I just signed up and here I am," Laura said.
Laura completed her LPN Certificate in 2008 and plans to continue her nursing education, with the goal of becoming a Physician's Assistant or a Family Nurse Practicioner. As a wife and mother of three children, Laura completed her program with the support of her husband and family, while maintaining a full-time job.
Laura said of her BCC experience, "Brunswick Community College prepared me to not only excel on the Practical Nursing exam but also in my career. I couldn't believe how ready I was and how prepared I feel each day."
