Sherri Hartley

Sherri Hartley When Sherri P. Hartley graduated with honors and an Associate in Science degree from DCCC in 1988, she did so with a 4.0 grade point average. Her next step was UNC Charlotte, where she earned a B.A. in Elementary Education, also graduating with honors and a 4.0. She was not through; she earned a 4.0 when she received her Master of Arts in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.

A teacher since 1991, Hartley says she will never stop learning, and she stresses this to her students at Reeds Elementary. “As an advocate for education, I consider it a privilege to be a member of this profession and look forward to the opportunities I am given to strengthen and promote excellence in teaching and instruction.”

Hartley was named the 2008-2009 Davidson County Schools Teacher of the Year. “As a kindergarten teacher, it is an honor to begin the educational lives of those who will one day be the leaders of our communities, our nation, and our world,” Hartley said.
