Kim Gibson
Kim Gibson didn't know what she was going to do after having been laid off from her textile job. With the help of Workforce Investment Act funds, she was able to enroll in the Office Systems Technology curriculum at Montgomery Community College.
"I was very nervous," Kim said, but added that her instructors gave her hope for a new start.
"We did mock interviews in one class, and the feedback was invaluable. When I went for my actual job interview, they asked some of the same questions. It really helped me get that job," Kim said.
Kim now works as the Administrative Secretary for the Montgomery County extension office.
