- Must be willing to obtain NC CORE credentials or have NRS approved credentials.

Position Description
The instructor will teach low-level adult basic education up to adult high school/ high school equivalency material, and/or English Language Acquisition at the Ashe Campus.
This position involves working directly with individuals with disabilities, providing support and fostering an inclusive environment that meets their unique needs and promotes their well-being and independence.
Instructor’s duties include:
- Plan, create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to student learning.
- Teach essential academic and life skills, such as reading, writing, math, problem- solving, and time management, to prepare students for college or the workforce.
- Develop and deliver tailored lessons that address the unique needs, abilities, and goals of each student, using accommodations as necessary.
- Encourage the development of critical thinking skills through appropriate classroom exercises and assignments.
- Provide instruction in communication, teamwork, and self-advocacy to foster confidence and independence in different settings.
- Track and document student progress.
- Communicate with students, supervisor, and WCC faculty/staff through the technological framework, such as email, provided by WCC.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
