Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Two years of clinical experience in an Acute Care setting within the last five years
- Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, a Nurse Licensure Compact State, or to be eligible for licensure (must have temporary license prior to employment)
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS
- Current immunizations and annual tuberculosis screening
- Current medical/surgical, ED, OB, or critical care experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Five years of clinical experience
- Teaching experience in a community college
Position Description
General Function
The Adjunct Nursing Instructor is a part – time position serving as an adjunct teaching faculty member responsible for instructing students on-campus, in clinical sites, and through other delivery methodologies in accordance with College policy and procedures. The relationship of this adjunct faculty member to the student is one of a leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in clinical advising of nursing students
- Participates in development, implementation, evaluation and revision of curriculum as indicated.
- Maintain professional competence and environment
- Participate in professional development activities is required
- Work cooperatively with peers while supporting the mission and vision of the College
- Adhere to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the College nursing program
