Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, or related field. 
  • Two – three years of data entry and customer service experience in an office setting.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills are preferred to support effective communication.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services/Registrar, performs administrative duties and essential functions to support and facilitate admissions processing. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists potential students with completing admissions requirements
  • Contacts applicants who have not completed the admissions process
  • Generates admissions reports for applicants who have completed the admissions process
  • Develops and maintains general correspondence related to admissions
  • Enters waivers in Colleague as directed by the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services/Registrar
  • Evaluates GED and HiSET scores for placement purposes
  • Determines accreditation status for RISE waiver purposes
  • Contacts applicants who are not US Citizens to obtain necessary residency documentation
  • Updates terms and major list on the CFNC admissions application
  • Schedules applicants for placement testing as needed
  • Calculates unweighted cumulative high school GPA as needed
  • Assists with entering transfer credit as needed
  • Completes clerical tasks and assists with projects and other administrative duties as necessary 
  • Serves as a backup to the Student Development Receptionist and Curriculum Records Specialist
  • Serves on institutional committees as appointed

 

 

Knowledge of

Principles and practices of PC’s and related software.

Policies, procedures, and processes in the office to which assigned.

Computerized record systems.

Ability to

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Operate a PC and related software.

Respond to inquiries generated by administrators, faculty, students, and the general public. 

Organize work priorities and handle duties during peak workload times.

Establish effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, students, and the general public.

Maintain accurate records and generate reports in a timely manner and in the appropriate format.

Perform work independently, prioritize work, and solve problems as they arise.
