Minimum Qualifications
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited post-secondary with either a strong analytical/quantitative component (e.g. educational/social science, business administration, STEM, computer science, accounting, mathematics, statistics)
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution with five years of experience in Institutional Planning, Program Review, or Surveys
Experience Required
- Three years of directly related professional experience including providing management support for projects with many contributors such as institutional planning and program review.
- Experience with survey design and quantitative data analysis.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Word and Excel or a statistical software (including merging datasets, pivot tables, charts, and Excel formulas)
- Experience extracting large datasets from an information system using a data-based query tool.
Preferred Qualifications

- Post-baccalaureate coursework with a strong quantitative component (e.g. educational/social science, business administration, STEM, computer science, accounting, mathematics, statistics).
Experience Preferred
- Greater than three years of directly related professional experience including providing management support for projects with many contributors such as institutional planning and program review.

- Experience working with Institutional Effectiveness software for program review, service review, and planning (e.g., Watermark).
- Experience with Entrinsik Informer and Ellucian (Datatel) Colleague, or similar business intelligence and ERP systems.
- Experience analyzing qualitative results.
- Experience with regional accreditation standards related to Institutional Effectiveness.
- Experience working with SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, or similar statistical program
- Experience with an Institutional Effectiveness/Course Evaluation/Survey software

The Institutional Research Assistant will assist with managing assigned projects and developing reporting that supports the work of the Institutional Research department. This includes, but not limited to, managing the planning and program/service review processes, administering course evaluations, and developing/administering/analyzing institutional surveys. The Institutional Research Assistant is expected to maintain an advanced understanding of internal and external reporting requirements, College operational guidelines and policies, and GTCC’s data management systems. Specifically, the Institutional Research Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the Institutional Effectiveness software with accurate records of all course sections, instructors, and students to enable optimized integration with Canvas. Additionally, the Institutional Research Assistant compiles data required for reporting to both the state and federal government, accrediting organizations, and granting agencies, and responds to ad hoc data requests. This position works under limited supervision and must exercise initiative and independent judgment in setting priorities and carrying out all assignments for Institutional Research-related projects within the portfolio. This individual must be able to work effectively with employees at all levels within the college. The position is responsible for frequent handling of confidential data and must maintain compliance with FERPA and other applicable laws and regulations.
