- Bachelor’s degree in Video production, digital media, television production or related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.
- Strong ability to operate television production equipment such as HD cameras, character generator, audio board, switcher, light board, editor, tape machines, etc.
- Experience in the production and direction of programming.

- 3-5 years experience in AV Production Technology
Position Description
-
This staff member facilitates teaching and learning opportunities to students in SCC’s Audio & Visual Production Technology Program, including opportunities offered to captive audiences. The primary role of instructional staff at SCC is to promote the educational attainment portion of the college’s mission. As such, they are expected to create and maintain appropriately high academic rigor while simultaneously providing appropriate support to help students be successful. Instructional staff are expected to maintain currency in their academic discipline and work to incorporate best practices related to teaching, learning, and student success.

This staff member is also responsible for creating and managing engaging and accurate video content that supports the educational, social, and cultural objectives of Southeastern Community College and the Columbus County community. The staff member oversees the college’s filming studio/student learning lab and YouTube channel. This staff member demonstrates the skills necessary to operate two-way audio and video production systems using current multimedia technology.

Essential Duties:
Educational Leadership and Student Training- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the published curriculum and course descriptions to meet College guidelines, goals, and objectives.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate learning strategies to communicate subject matter for maximization of student learning and participate in professional development related to pedagogy and andragogy best practices.
- Develop and maintain an electronic learning site for all assigned courses through the current learning management system.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student work promptly to maximize student learning.
- Plan and lead hands-on training and student led projects that prepare students to enter the workforce with the essential industry recognized skills.
- Participate in the development and implementation of program learning outcomes and program review.
- Evaluate the program needs for equipment, supplies and instructional materials and recommend purchases.
- Supervise facilities for program area for proper use, safety, security, and maintenance and maintain a budget for the program.
- Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.
- Supervise student staff
- Teach community college students to include dual enrolled students, non-traditional students, low-income and first-generation students.
- Teach courses at times that meet students’ and industry schedules to include evening, online and on the weekends.
- Advise students in the areas of career and academic planning and learning support. Instructional Staff are expected to be accessible to their advisees and engage advisees in a manner that promotes student success and reflects best practice
Video Production and Coordination- Lead the planning, scheduling, and storyboarding of all video projects to ensure clarity, engagement, and alignment with institutional goals. This includes research, scriptwriting, etc.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and campus departments to coordinate, plan, and execute YouTube shows and tapings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop video content that effectively communicates intended messages, ensuring that all content is both accurate and engaging for viewers.
- Manage the full video production process of recorded content, including ideation, pre-production, production, and post-production for all projects.
- Operate and maintain all necessary production studio and equipment, such as set design, control room, production equipment, HD cameras, audio boards, light boards, and editing software. Work in cooperation with other areas of the institution to promote training and marketing videos.
- Schedule, produce, and edit programming for airing on the SCC YouTube channel.
- Network and stay current on the latest trends within the production field and higher education and training for the program.
Budget Management
- Manage departmental budgets as determined by the Dean of Business Careers & Training.
- Recommend area needs for personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, and other resources during the annual planning process
- Maintain labs where applicable related to equipment and supplies, preventative maintenance and purchase of supplies
Other Duties Specific to the Position
- Remain current in discipline through professional development activities offered by the College and other opportunities including, but not limited to, off-campus activities, webinars, conference, etc. as approved
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to electrically interconnect any equipment used in the studio or in the performance of the duties of the position
- Experience in effectively managing multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent people, written, oral communication, and presentation skills required
- Experience with Adobe Production Suite, Xen Data Storage, Ultra-Nexus HD server or other related tools
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and planning ski
