EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree in Biology or related field demonstrating at least 18 credit hours in Anatomy and Physiology.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Teaching and administrative experience leading to this level of responsibility.
- Demonstration of skills in the area of communication, organization, and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, community groups, and others.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
- Display respect for social, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual diversity.
- Must have at least minimal skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar applications
- Experience with a distance learning platform

Position Description
Carteret Community College (Morehead City, NC) is accepting applications for a full-time (10-month) Biology Instructor. Applications will be accepted through April 3, 2025. Monthly Salary Range: $5,403 to $6,570, commensurate with experience.
The instructor will fulfill instructional duties courses at the College, collaborate with the Chair or Dean, advise students, and perform other job responsibilities as described below.
- Adhere to departmental course guidelines and ensure that content covers approved competencies.
- Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful instructional activities.
- Provide instruction in multiple biological science areas, including Anatomy and Physiology.
- Request supplies and materials for courses and recommend appropriate equipment or technology.
- Maintain, review, and update course content, learning outcomes, and course syllabi.
- Follow required lab regulations, including chemical inventory management.
- Maintain required college records including (but not limited to) attendance, grades, and learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance and learning outcomes using methods appropriate to the courses.
- Collaborate with faculty in periodic program reviews.
- Participate in data gathering, interpretation, and evaluation activities.
- Assist advisees and maintain proficiency in program completion requirements.
- Advise in the MAPS center during registration periods.
- Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
- Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
