Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following educational qualification pathways:
Economics Credentialing Pathway:
- Master’s degree in Economics; or
- Master’s degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Economics.
All applicants must also have:
- Three or more years of documented business industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses as assigned.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in business administration, economics, analytics, or related business courses in a community college or other higher education setting.
- Experience using Canvas as a course delivery and student engagement platform.
- Business analytics experience, including the application of data to business decision-making, reporting, forecasting, performance measurement, process improvement, or business problem-solving.
- Experience using spreadsheets, dashboards, data visualization tools, business intelligence tools, or other applied analytics resources.
- Experience developing or revising curriculum, assessments, rubrics, course materials, or instructional resources.
- Managerial, supervisory, or professional business experience.
- Experience advising students and supporting recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives.
Position Description
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a 10-month Business Administration Instructor position within Business Programs. This posting is intended to identify candidates with the qualifications and experience to support instruction in economics and related business courses in a community college setting.
The successful candidate will be student-centered, workforce-focused, and able to connect business concepts to applied practice. This position requires strong teaching ability, documented business industry experience, Canvas or learning management system experience, and a commitment to student engagement, retention, and success. The instructor may teach face-to-face, online, hybrid, blended, evening, weekend, and/or multi-campus courses as assigned.
This position requires regular on-campus presence, including a minimum of 28 hours on campus each week, in accordance with college expectations.
