Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Higher Education, or Computer-Related field. Other bachelor’s degrees associated with strong communication and critical thinking skills may be considered.
- Minimum three years’ experience in a higher education or business setting.
- Excellent computer skills, including standard educational and business software applications.

The role of the Compliance Officer and Grants Coordinator is to support institutional compliance with federal, state, institutional, and other applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines; and to coordinate the College’s efforts to obtain grant funding. The Compliance Officer & Grants Coordinator coordinates and communicates all federal aid and grant compliance activities and programs, as well as assisting with planning and implementing compliance activities. The Compliance Officer & Grants Coordinator assists the Institutional Accreditation Liaison with ensuring both institutional and specialty accreditation compliance.
The Compliance Officer & Grants Coordinator receives supervision from the Vice President of Institutional Research, Planning, Effectiveness and Technology and provides supervision to the part-time Scanning Technician.

Examples of Duties

- Support the College in following federal, state, institutional, and other applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the:
- Institutional Compliance Plan.
- calendar for data reports to external entities, such as the NCCCS and IPEDS.
- calendar for compliance with the North Carolina Community College System Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
- Remain current in knowledge of legislative/regulatory policies and changes impacting the College.
- Develop and maintain training program to ensure regulatory awareness and operational effectiveness.
- Serve as the point of contact for compliance audits.
- Coordinate compliance efforts relating to the NC Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
- Assist with development of and adherence to the Policy and Procedure Manual Review Schedule.
- Provide input into the review and update of policies and procedures under the purview of the Division of Institutional Research, Planning, Effectiveness and Technology.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of departmental business continuity plans and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate the annual review and update of the Consumer Information Disclosures.
- Support college compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Billey Act, specifically assisting the Director of Information Technology in his or her efforts to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive information security program.
- Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
- Assist the Institutional Accreditation Liaison as needed with ensuring both institutional and programatic accreditation compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
