Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Video Conferencing, and LMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of online teaching, learning accessibility, compliance regulations,
    and project management principles.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in compliance monitoring, online course accessibility, student success initiatives, and project management methodologies. 
  • Project management experience demonstrates organizational skills for handling complex tasks and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with community colleges and student success reform initiatives such as guided pathways and equitable education. 

Position Description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The Coordinator of the Center for Teaching and Learning Support is responsible for overseeing Out-of-State Authorization compliance, ensuring ADA compliance in online classes, coordinating efforts related to ACA-111 and ACA-122 Student Success courses, and managing projects that align with institutional goals. This position provides leadership and support to maintain institutional integrity in regulatory compliance, student success initiatives, and project management. The role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to fulfill institutional mission, vision, priorities, and strategic plans. The coordinator reports to the Dean of the Center for Teaching and Learning.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate and monitor Out-of-State Authorization (NC-SARA and SARA NC) compliance requirements to ensure adherence to state regulations. 
  • Oversee ADA compliance efforts in online courses, ensuring accessibility standards and best practices are met. 
  • Serve as co-administrator of ACA-111 and ACA-122 courses, supporting faculty, adjunct coordination, course blueprint management, and student success initiatives. 
  • Manage and oversee projects related to compliance, student success, and institutional initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic goals. 
  • Support institutional special projects and committees related to compliance, project management, and student success. 
  • Serve as the SCC liaison to external organizations, including NCCCS, VLC, NC3ADL, and other regulatory bodies. 
  • Ensure the syllabus template remains compliant with accreditation standards 
  • Coordinate content for the CTL section of the SCC Insider monthly newsletter 

DUTIES:

Compliance, Accessibility, and Project Management Support

  • Monitor and support NC-SARA and SARA NC membership, ensuring compliance with state and national distance education regulations. 
  • Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to implement ADA-compliant course materials and ensure accessibility best practices. 
  • Support SACS-COC, Department of Education, and other regulatory compliance efforts. 
  • Oversee project planning, tracking, and implementation for institutional initiatives related to compliance, accessibility, and student success. 

ACA-111 and ACA-122 Course Coordination

  • Oversee schedule planning and contract requests for ACA courses. 
  • Coordinate adjunct faculty support, professional development, and course management. 
  • Manage Simple Syllabus Course Master for ACA courses. 
  • Facilitate Learning Evidence reporting and data tracking for student success in ACA courses

 Institutional Collaboration, Project Leadership, and External Engagement

  • Serve as a liaison to NCCCS Distance Learning Community, Virtual Learning Community (VLC), NC3ADL, and other relevant organizations. 
  • Stay up to date on higher education compliance trends, instructional methods, and technology advancements. 
  • Manage and lead projects supporting compliance, accessibility, and student success, ensuring collaboration across departments. 
  • Support the Center for Teaching and Learning in professional development efforts related to compliance, accessibility, student success, and project management. 

 Special Project Support

  • Assist with committee efforts, coaching visits, and application/report drafting for initiatives such as Achieving the Dream (ATD), SCC’s Strategic Plan, and other compliance and project-based initiatives. 
  • Support Title III grant efforts, Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) support, and other institutional initiatives related to compliance, project execution, and student success.
