Minimum Qualifications
-
- North Carolina Level II Firefighter required.
- North Carolina Level III Fire Instructor Certification or North Carolina Level III Officer certification required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional and/or volunteer firefighter required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
- Skill in the use of computers and commitment to use of technology
- Experience with current version of MS Office or similar programs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure strong rapport and collaborative relationships with industry customers
- Provide exceptional customer service with people internal and external to the institution
- Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

- North Carolina Live Burn instructor certification preferred.
Position Description
|
Serve as the coordinator/instructor of Fire and Rescue training by working closely with the county’s fire, rescue, emergency medical services, law enforcement agencies and industries. Primary duties and responsibilities include the development, delivery, and administration of the College’s Fire and Rescue training course offerings. Other duties include designing a comprehensive marketing plan for program promotion, maintaining a budget, providing documentation of program success, hiring and supervision of adjunct faculty, conducting class visits, and developing course materials.
