Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Using strong interpersonal skills and professional communication, performs a variety of complex and confidential curriculum schedule and academic program support functions; researches and compiles data for various reports; provides information and curriculum assistance to faculty, staff, and students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate and coordinate curriculum schedule and program information with instructional deans, department chairs, program directors, administrative assistants, faculty, and staff.
- Build and maintain programs of study following the NCCCS System Office guidelines.
- Maintain and update courses locally as needed by System Office direction or following Curriculum Committee approval.
- Coordinate completion of curriculum course schedules by deans, department chairs, and program directors; verify accuracy of curriculum schedule of classes; provide schedule/timeline of deadlines.
- Perform input and maintenance of curriculum schedules.
- Monitor curriculum schedule for inefficiencies and discuss with supervisor or VPAA as needed.
- Stay current on CCRC (Curriculum Course Review Committee) decisions, NCCCS communication, numbered memos, etc.; communicate updates with deans, department chairs, program directors, faculty, and staff.
- Maintain official records of curriculum standard compliance set by the North Carolina Community College System.
- Serve on the Academic Calendar Committee; maintain the academic calendar and academic terms.
- Manage the college’s event scheduling system for instructional spaces; serve as liaison between the college and the scheduling software company; troubleshoot issues surrounding scheduling software, generate help tickets, and provide training as needed.
- Oversee the scheduling and efficient use of instructional spaces; plan and implement processes to increase scheduling efficiencies; collaborate with stakeholders to optimize space utilization.
- Maintain instructional spaces, buildings, and rooms in the college’s SIS and scheduling system.
- Assist with building and updating dashboards and reports in Informer 5.
