Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

  The Digital Content Specialist supports the Director of Public Relations & Marketing and works collaboratively to advance Brunswick Community College’s mission through strategic digital communication and marketing initiatives.

This position supports institutional marketing efforts, including initiatives for the Foundation of Brunswick Community College, BCC Athletics, and Odell Williamson Auditorium (OWA). The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing digital strategies that strengthen enrollment efforts, promote community engagement, enhance institutional visibility, support fundraising initiatives, elevate athletic programs, and promote performing arts programming.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The position reports to the Director of Public Relations & Marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Digital Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with institutional goals.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across the College’s digital platforms, including content supporting the Foundation, Athletics, and OWA.
  • Produce and edit video content to support academic programs, workforce training, Foundation initiatives, Athletics, performing arts programming, and campus events.
  • Manage and maintain the College’s website to ensure accuracy, relevance, accessibility, and brand consistency.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor paid advertising campaigns across digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, Athletics, Foundation representatives, and OWA leadership to develop digital campaigns.
  • Create and maintain content calendars to support institutional priorities, fundraising efforts, athletic promotions, and season programming.

 

Performance Tracking and Optimization:

  • Track and analyze performance metrics across social media and website
  • Utilize analytics and data insights to optimize content, improve engagement, and increase conversions
  • Prepare quarterly reports summarizing digital marketing performance and campaign effectiveness.
  • Monitor emerging digital trends and technologies to recommend innovative strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with college policies and brand standards across all digital channels.
