Minimum Qualifications

  • Three years of related professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field (e.g., non-profit management, sales, or marketing)
  • Proven Success in grant writing resulting in awards; supporting donor engagement and cultivation of major gifts.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and influence executive and cross-functional leaders within a community college, higher education, or business environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  Essential Functions

The Director of Grants and Resource Development serves as a leader responsible for advancing institutional fundraising and grant acquisition efforts across Isothermal Community College. This role provides strategic coordination and technical expertise in annual fund development, donor stewardship and relations, grant writing and management, database oversight, and comprehensive fundraising operations. The Director of Grants and Resource Development will partner closely with faculty, staff, the College Foundation, employers, donors, and community stakeholders to lead efforts to secure federal, state, local, and private funding while strengthening the college’s philanthropic engagement and external partnerships. In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, the position executes data-informed, strategic fundraising initiatives designed to meet annual targets and long-term institutional advancement goals.

 

   Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy, Donor Relations & Foundation Support

  • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to implement strategic fundraising plans.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects, including major gifts, planned giving, and corporate/foundation relations.
  • Develop proposals, case statements, and gift agreements.
  • Oversee annual solicitation and stewardship processes.
  • Manage the donor database.
  • Support College Foundation activities, Board engagement, fundraising events, and alumni outreach.

 

Grant Development, Compliance & Funding Research

  • Research and identify public and private funding sources.
  • Support faculty, staff, and community partners in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities.
  • Manage grant development timelines and submission processes.
  • Serve as final institutional review prior to executive approval and submission.
  • Develop tools and resources to support grant-funded project management, compliance, and reporting.

 

Program Support & Administrative Coordination

  • Support planning and coordination of New Century Scholars Program activities.
  • Perform other assigned duties in support of institutional advancement and resource development objectives.

   Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  3. Ability to interact with individuals from governmental agencies, corporations, other non-profits, public foundations, faculty/staff, donors and potential donors

  6. Ability to work under pressure, manage and coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.

 Physical Demands

Light work, occasionally moving objects, travel to off campus courses and meetings; otherwise sedentary. Typical office environment, infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs., infrequently twisting or bending at the waist or reaching overhead; frequently traveling between buildings on campuses, to other centers or off campus to attend meetings; frequent communications with stakeholders in person, by telephone, email, or Zoom; frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, and mouse.

 Work Hours

A minimum of 37.5-hour work week as determined by supervisor is required. Occasional evenings and some weekends may be required.
