Position Description
The Director of TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is responsible for achieving grant
objectives as well as grant planning, implementation, continuous review, and analysis. The
Director reports to the Senior Director, Student Engagement & Success and has the following
responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
● Execute management and program services as outlined by federal guidelines of
Student Support Services (TRiO)
● Ensures compliance with program requirements, including policy development,
federal report submissions, and maintenance of accurate and confidential student
records.
● Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal regulations and resources available for
program participants.
● Facilitates the development and implementation of all aspects of the grant
● Administers and manages the SSS budget, in accordance with Davidson-Davie policy
and in compliance with requirements and regulations of the Government
● Communicates project goals and objectives to College administrators and community
(faculty, staff, and students)
● Works specifically with students who are in need of academic support, first generation,
disabled and meet the financial criteria of Student Support Services (TRiO)
● Maintains consistent and accurate records in accordance with federal guidelines on the
Student Support Services Program
● Responsible for procuring, maintaining and monitoring current academic program
information on curriculum degrees
● Works in collaboration with the Senior Director, Student Engagement and Success,
academic schools, and other members of the college community to enhance support
for SSS participants
● Provides training, training opportunities, coaching, mentoring, and performance
management for staff
● Participates and maintains membership in local, state, and national affiliations/events
sponsored by TRiO
● Completes other duties as assigned
● Evening and weekend work may be required to fulfill program objectives and support
participants.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
● Master’s degree or higher in education, administration, counseling, or a related field.
● Three years of supervisory experience.
● Experience in managing or administering grant programs.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience working with federal Department of Education programs or TRiO
Programs.
● Experience working with TRIO, GEAR UP state/partnership programs or other college
access/student success programs
● Work experience in a college setting
● Fluency in Spanish
● Experience with Blumen database
