Position Description

Statement of Primary Purpose

To provide leadership and support to the SCC Foundation Office, annual giving activities and donor stewardship.

 

Classification

Professional, full-time, exempt

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Scholarship Committee and the accurate administration of scholarship awards in collaboration with the SCC Financial Aid Office.
  • Lead SCC Foundation advancement services including, but not limited to, gift processing and acknowledgement, donor reporting, preparation for donor tax statements, and preparation and gift reports for financial management and auditing in collaboration with the Treasurer for the Foundation of the Board of Directors and Foundation Accountant.
  • Manage reservations, volunteers and the silent auction for the Foundation’s annual fundraising gala.
  • Supervise Foundation Student Ambassadors and/or student workers/volunteers while on Foundation assignments.
  • Manage and Administer the Raiser’s Edge Donor Management Software to include maintenance of accurate donor records, gift processing and donor acknowledgements.
  • Manage and process SCC Foundation receivables, payables and budget management through the preparation and submission of purchase requisitions and related activities in collaboration with the Foundation accountant and other SCC Business Office staff as appropriate.
  • Manage and Administer the Award Spring Scholarship Management Software.
  • Assist the SCC Executive Director of Institutional Advancement in the execution of all mission critical aspects of the Foundation.
  • Assist the SCC Foundation Office with the organization of all fundraising events.
  • Assist the SCC Executive Director of Institutional Advancement with Foundation Board meetings and other Foundation related meetings.
  • Assist in planning and execution of campaigns.
  • Serve as SCC Executive Director of Institutional Advancement’s representative in the Director’s absence.
  • Serve as primary financial liaison with the Foundation accountant and SCC business office.
  • Serve as De Facto SCC Foundation Board Secretary – record all Board and Committee meeting minutes, disseminate and archive.
  • Prepare reports and mailing lists for Foundation initiatives and collaborative partners.
  • Administrative SCC Foundation duties as assigned.
  • Promote the SCC Foundation and its mission.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist the SCC Executive Director of Institutional Advancement with Foundation representation in public meetings.
  • Be well versed in the mission, vision and activities of the SCC Foundation in order to engage donors and potential donors, while advocating for the SCC Foundation and SCC students.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Serve on college committees and assist with special projects as required.

Act as an ambassador for the college both internally and externally.

Working Conditions and Environment

Some activities require working additional hours, including evenings and weekends.  Some activities require state and local travel.

Standard office equipment, i.e. computer, printer, fax, scanner (both document and survey scanners), copier.
