Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent experience in community-based engagement and case management is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrate skill in working with students to achieve their educational goals.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relations skills.
- Ability to generate electronic documents and reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to make presentations to large audiences.
- Excellent computer skills as evidenced by competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Prior work experience in college-level student advising, program management, student services, job readiness training, job placement, and data collection is preferred
Physical Demands: Ability to lift, at times, up to 10 pounds; ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Position Description
Carteret Community College (Morehead City, NC) is accepting applications for a full-time (grant funded) Education Navigator. The More Than A Job NC (MTAJ-NC) Education Navigator manages MTAJ-NC program activities. This position will create and implement best practices for working with the Carteret County Department of Social Services, developing targeted support and intervention to the MTAJ-NC program, including education case management, Employment & Training (E&T) component assessment, funding resources, documentation, monitoring, and recording of student progress.

Salary Range: $40,609 to $47,377 commensurate with education and experience
- Develop and maintain best practices for collaborating with the Department of Social Services to strengthen the ability to serve MTAJ-NC participants.
- Coordinate with the County DSS office on referral systems and documentation requirements for MTAJ-NC participants
- Meet and advise eligible students on the development of career pathway plans, academic plans, goal identification, and barrier removal in education and employment.
- Coordinate with college departments, including Financial Aid, Admissions and Records, College and Career Readiness, and Workforce Continuing Education to meet student needs and promote student success
- Provide resources, support, and referrals to community organizations to assist in student retention activities.
- Identify, develop, and participate in outreach activities (orientations, job fairs, community events, funding workshops, and individual student appointments).
- Create and maintain spreadsheets and documentation to support grant expenses and program offerings, meeting grant expenditure targets.
- Complete required reports for the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS).
- Assist in the writing of the yearly state plan applications.
- Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend required campus events, including graduation, professional development & employee meetings.
- Perform other duties as required
