Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field and have at least one year of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Applicants must be bilingual in English and either Spanish or Haitian Creole and hold English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) certification or have completed relevant postsecondary coursework in ESL.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues are required. The position requires flexibility to work daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours, as well as availability to teach both morning and evening classes. A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
National Career Readiness Certification.
Position Description
The position will support and empower adult English Language Learners in achieving greater language proficiency, civic understanding, and workforce readiness via classroom and online instruction. The position will provide curriculum development, accurate recordkeeping, and data reporting.
