Position Description
-
DEFINITION:
To coordinate and deliver classroom and lab instruction for the Machining Career Accelerator, an intensive 12-week training program designed in collaboration with industry partners to prepare participants for careers in precision machining. The Full Time Instructor serves as the primary instructor for the program and provides instructional leadership, curriculum coordination, and quality assurance to ensure the program meets employer expectations and college standards.
***This is a Time Limited, Temporary Full Time Grant Funded Position that ends December 2026 with potential to be extended***
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives general and technical supervision from the Senior Director, Workforce Development
- Provides technical and instructional guidance to part-time instructors.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the lead instructor for the Machining Career Accelerator, delivering both classroom and lab instruction focused on foundational and advanced machining skills.
- Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with industry standards and employer requirements.
- Coordinate instructional activities and ensure consistent delivery among all instructors involved in the program.
- Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding of students; collaborate with admissions and workforce teams to ensure smooth enrollment processes.
- Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate instructional and attendance records.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts by reviewing curriculum effectiveness and incorporating employer and student feedback.
- Collaborate with employer partners to align instruction with workforce needs and job placement opportunities.
- Maintain program equipment, materials, and lab spaces; ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Mentor and support part-time instructors or lab staff as assigned.
- Represent the program at advisory committee meetings, industry events, and outreach activities as needed.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Other Important Functions:
- Assess material, supply, and equipment needs; submit requisitions and maintain an inventory of tools and resources.
- Support student recruitment and retention efforts; contribute to program marketing and community engagement.
- Collaborate with employer partners and college staff to ensure program outcomes align with workforce needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and safe work practices in lab and classroom environments.
- Participate in employer feedback sessions and advisory committee meetings as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices, and tools used in precision machining and advanced manufacturing.
- Curriculum development, instructional techniques, and competency-based training models.
- Occupational safety standards and best practices for machining environments.
- Program management and coordination methods.
- Current trends and technologies in machining and manufacturing workforce development.
Ability To:
