Minimum Qualifications

Faculty must hold a Master’s degree in Accounting.   Candidates with a Master’s degree in a related field may also be considered, provided they have completed at least 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting. Faculty should have prior college level teaching experience, a strong academic foundation, and the ability to teach a range of undergraduate mathematics courses. A commitment to engaging students, developing innovative teaching methods, and contributing to the growth and development of the Accounting program is essential.

Full-time Accounting faculty are responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate Accounting courses.   Faculty will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and informative accounting courses that align with the college’s curriculum and learning objectives; designing and grading assignments, exams, and other assessments to evaluate student performance and learning; participating in department and college-wide meetings, initiatives, and service activities; and collaborating with other faculty members to enhance the Accounting offerings at the College.

As salaried employees, Faculty work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with a required minimum of 24 on-campus hours Monday through Friday. In certain program areas and during certain periods, such as advising and registration, Faculty may be required to work more than the minimum on-campus hours. Focused on student success, Faculty support the College’s mission by facilitating student learning inside and outside of class through high-quality instruction, academic support, and informed advising.
