Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher, required. Must have background in and current knowledge of dental assisting and the specific subjects they will be teaching. Must have knowledge of educational theory and methodology concepts (e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement and evaluation) by the date of employment. Must be a graduate of a dental assisting program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Must meet current North Carolina Dental Assisting credential classification requirements. Must possess a current North Carolina Dental Assisting National Board “Certified Dental Assistant” credential.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience in a CODA-accredited institution, preferred. Licensed dental hygienist, preferred.
Position Description
This is a nine (9) month position with a subsequent summer contract. Responsible for both preparing and delivering instruction to a diverse student population using not only various course delivery methods (e.g., seated, online, hybrid, etcetera) but also various course delivery lengths (e.g., 16-week, 12-week, 8-week, etcetera) at various locations (e.g., campus classrooms and/or lab facilities, military installations, clinical or extension sites, high schools, etcetera). Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as a curriculum faculty member and full-time employee, to include, but not limited to, other duties as assigned. Must be willing to travel to clinical sites.

Start Date: May 19, 2025.
Salary: Minimum monthly salary is $5,147.00 with final determination based upon education and experience.
Standard Working Hours: Monday – Friday with a minimum of thirty (30) contact/office hours per week. Working days and working hours vary, based upon institutional need or programmatic requirements.

A $4,500 signing bonus will be paid, based upon satisfactory performance and continued employment, in two equal installments. The first installment will be paid in June 2025, and the second installment will be paid in August 2025.
