Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Healthcare, Business, Counseling, or related field. 

Experience working in student services, advising, recruitment, admissions or other related field in a higher education institution. 

Position Description

Basic Purpose of Position

The Healthcare Recruitment and Student Success Advisor supports the recruitment, advising, retention, and success of students pursuing healthcare and selective admissions programs.  This position serves as a liaison between the College, local high schools, and community partners to promote healthcare career pathways and enrollment opportunities.  The advisor provides guidance to prospective and current students regarding admissions requirements, academic planning, and program readiness while supporting student persistence through proactive advising, outreach, and intervention efforts.  The role also coordinates recruitment activities, participates in campus and community events, and collaborates with faculty and student services to enhance enrollment and student success outcomes. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Advises prospective and current students regarding healthcare program admissions requirements, prerequisite coursework, selective admissions processes, testing requirements, application timelines, and career opportunities. 
  • Assists students in navigating closed admissions processes by providing academic planning, pathway guidance, transfer information, and individualized advising to improve student readiness and success. 
  • Coordinates selective admissions advising and student communications for healthcare programs, including admissions requirements, application timelines, deadlines, acceptance notifications, and guidance regarding alternative educational pathways and opportunities. 
  • Collaborates with Enrollment, Advising, Financial Aid, Testing, and other student services areas to connect students with appropriate resources and support. 
  • Partners with healthcare program coordinators and faculty to identify, support, and track at-risk students while developing individualized success, retention, and intervention plans. 
  • Coordinates and implements recruitment initiatives for healthcare and selective admissions programs through outreach activities, informational sessions, and partnerships with local high schools, career centers, and community organizations. 
  • Represents the College and its healthcare programs at high school visits, college fairs, career expos, community events, and campus recruitment events to promote enrollment opportunities and career pathways. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with K-12 partners, community agencies, workforce organizations, and healthcare stakeholders to strengthen recruitment pipelines and support enrollment growth. 
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of healthcare program requirements, enrollment trends, transfer pathways and workforce needs to effectively advise students and support recruitment efforts. 
  • Tracks and maintains accurate student records, advising documentation, recruitment data, and communication logs in accordance with institutional policies and reporting requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned that support the mission, goals, and ongoing operations of the College and Student Services department. 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Work is primarily performed in an office and campus environment; however, regular attendance at recruitment events, community outreach events, high school visits, and other off-site functions is required. 
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and frequent use of computers and office equipment.
  • Requires frequent interaction with students, College staff, and other community members, including presentations at public and College events.  
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, transporting, and setting up recruitment materials, displays, and event supplies. 
  • Physical effort is generally light to moderate with minimal exposure to physical hazards.
