Minimum Qualifications
Adjunct Instructors must meet the faculty qualifications as defined by Wayne Community College to ensure compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. All certifications and/or post-secondary credentials must be from a regionally accredited institution and submitted to Human Resources within 30 days of hire. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with computer software is required. Applicant must be a self-starter, a team player, and possess the ability to work well with others.
If selected for employment, the applicant must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in both English and Spanish is desired.
Position Description
Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in the subject area. Applicants must be able to teach day and evening classes, which may include classes offered at our main campus and off-site. Instructors may be required to teach the following types of courses: traditional methods (seated), online, and hybrid. The candidate must complete the mandatory SafeColleges training within 30 days of hire and annual refresher training thereafter.
