Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bio/Chemical engineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Bioengineering from an institutional accreditor.
Experience Required
- 3 years relevant industry or research experience in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical e.g. experience in cell culture, bio-manufacturing (including small scale bioreactor operation, chromatography/purification), or good manufacturing practice (GMP) and quality control (QC).
- Teaching and/or industry training experience in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
Preferred Qualifications

Position Description
Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision, this individual will develop, prepare and teach bioprocess manufacturing technology and biology or chemistry courses designed for transfer and support of career technical programs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting and advising students. The faculty member will collaborate with industry partners to ensure relevancy of the curriculum and provide necessary training and education. This person is responsible for facilitating the Bioprocess Manufacturing Technology Advisory Committee and serving as a member, as well as recruiting industry professionals to join the Committee.
