Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying or related field plus two years relevant experience in civil engineering, geomatics, surveying or related field

OR

Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying or related field plus four years relevant experience in civil engineering, geomatics, surveying or related field

Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

Preferences:

B.S. degree (or higher academic credential) in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, or related field Licensure as a Professional Engineer or Professional Land Surveyor

CADD/Civil 3D/PIX4D/Survey Pro experience Experience with drones, GNSS, and robotic equipment

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner

* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance

* Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour

* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment

* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course

* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner

Follows identified course activities to meet learning objectives that support the goals of the course 

Assists with curriculum design

Maintains regular office hours

Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom

Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching

Serves on college or department committees as needed

Attends professional development opportunities when possible

Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus

Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate

Participate in graduation exercises

Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as Blackboard.

Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot difficult projects

Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills
