Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Self-motivated; works independently
- Passion for Floral Design with solid craft and teaching skills.

- Must have the ability to establish rapport with non-traditional older student populations in order to foster retention and program growth
- Excellent written and oral communication.

Position Description
General Function
Teaches Floral Design to adult students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruits students to fill classes personally taught
- Provides and follows a detailed syllabus, teaching 3-4 hours weekly for a 16-week semester (spring/fall) and /or 8-week session (summer).
- Provides individual feedback to adult students tailored to move them forward from their current level.
- Submits news and photos of student work for posting on Southport Center’s social media accounts.
- Assists the Director with developing the Southport Center course schedule during each semester by submitting and reviewing own line-item entries.
- Submits timesheets and attendance rosters in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintains good rapport with colleagues and students
- Other duties as assigned by the director.
