Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field
Minimum of two years teaching experience in adult education or K-12 education
Minimum of two years of experience with instructional technology
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Five years’ experience in adult education
Experience with instructional software such as Aztec, Burlington English and NorthStar Digital Literacy

Job Duties
Instruction
- Teach an appropriate instructional course load of 21-28 contact hours per week.
- Oversees planning of lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students in preparation for successful program completion.
- Oversee all High School Equivalency instructional materials and maintain files of instructional materials for part-time instructors.
- Maintaining appropriate classroom standards that include the effective management of students in the classroom and the management of classroom and lab facilities and/or guiding part-time instructors to do the same.
- Provide timely and accurate reports related to instruction.
- Assist with orientation and registration of students in CCR online learning platforms to include monitoring progress and making adjustments for individual students within and between these platforms.
Administrative Duties
- Works with the Director to plan staff training.
- Assists with orientation of new instructors and observation of part-time instructors.
- Supervises maintenance of software resources.
- Manages the administrative needs of the software such as allocating seats, ordering seats, recommending new software and changes to software.
Student Development Support
- Refer students to Student Development personnel for guidance, counseling, and resource assistance following prescribed procedures on an as needed basis.
- Be available to students on a regular basis for out-of-class tutorial support in the courses assigned.
- Collaborate with other program staff on retention strategies.
- Assists with transitioning students from CCR programs into post-secondary and continuing opportunities.
- Makes referrals as necessary to special programs and agencies available to aid student progress (WIOA, HRD, etc.)
Institutional Support
- Work a minimum 38-hour workweek in accordance with policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Assist with the implementation and enforcement of all official policies and procedures of Rockingham Community College.
- Attend meetings, conferences, seminars, briefings, and training sessions called to expedite the business of the college.
- Attend extracurricular functions such as graduation, campus fund drives, etc. that promote the collegiate life.
- Serve on local, state, regional and/or national committees upon request and/or approval from the administration.
- Serve on college committees as assigned to expedite college business and to be involved in the decision-making process of the college.
- Exhibit a personal and professional attitude that reflects positively upon the individual and the public perception of the community college.
Public Relations Support
- Maintain effective intra-institution relationships with members of the RCC Board of Trustees, President’s Cabinet, administrative staff, faculty, and support personnel of the college.
- Provide appropriate liaison support with the North Carolina Community College System and other relational entities.
- Promote Rockingham Community College with local, state, regional, and national citizenry.
- Participate in Rockingham Community College, North Carolina Community College System, and other authorized professional development programs upon request.
- Pursue local, state, regional, or national certifications that qualify one’s work against recognized standards in the field.
