| Job Description |
The Retention and Success Coach is a full-time position located primarily on the OCH Campus in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the Assistant ESOL Director, the Lead Retention and Success Coach assists students and instructors in identifying barriers to student success and implementing proactive strategies that promote retention. The Retention and Success Coach fosters a supportive and inclusive culture for new and returning students and positively impacts program performance by increasing retention and transition to post-secondary education or the workforce. As Lead, this position will supervise and support all other ESOL Retention and Success Coaches.

| Job Duties |
· Expertly interact with data, presentation, email, and other institutional software
· Facilitate student orientation sessions for new and returning English Language Learners for on and off campus locations for Union and Anson Counties
· Communicate directly with students via phone, text, email or other media
· Prepare and implement intervention plans for at-risk students to stay engaged or reengage
· Provide positive support and manage barriers with internal and community support services
· Assess student testing data to determine appropriate student class placement
· Supervise ESOL Retention and Success Coaches
o Onboard and orient new coaches to the duties of the role
o Foster growth and development through ongoing support, training, and mentorship
o Manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage of classes and supportive services to students
· Organize and maintain student placement documentation for assigned programs
· Oversee tracking of rosters and attendance data to target at-risk students
· Work collaboratively with staff and instructors to support student transitions within the program
· Assist students in developing and managing transition goals to postsecondary education or the workforce
· Assist at college and community event to engage and recruit prospective students
· Serve as a classroom substitute, as necessary
· Actively participate in appropriate professional development and training sessions
· Actively participate in college committees and activities
· Demonstrate a high-level of professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and institutional commitment in all actions
· Other duties as designated by the Assistant ESOL Director or the Executive Adult Basic Skills Director
