Minimum Qualifications
(Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. High school diploma or equivalent;
2. Four years of full-time or equivalent experience in HVAC;
3. Valid and unrestricted driver license;
4. CFC certification;
5. One of the following: H3, H2 or H1 license.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Associate’s degree.
2. Five years working commercial HVAC.
3. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
Position Description
Job Description Summary
Performs a variety of technical task related to the maintenance and repair of heating, cooling and related mechanical systems, controls and equipment. Will maintain one of the following, H3, H2, or H1 Technician License or Contractor License.
Duties
1. Repairs college owned air conditioning and heating units.
2. Performs general and preventative maintenance that is deemed necessary by the Coordinator of Maintenance Operations.
3. Investigates problems and performs repairs on various heating, cooling and ventilation equipment.
4. Reviews blueprints and job specifications to determine best method of installing heating and ventilation systems, and installs heating and ventilation systems.
5. Locates and repairs electrical system failures in heating and cooling system.
6. Monitors the performance of the heating and cooling system.
7. Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety protocols and the maintenance of a clean work area.
8. Maintains one of following, H3, H2, or HR Technician License or Contractor License.
9. Obtains permits for college HVAC installations.
10. Works with other trades in maintenance to complete team task.
11. Remains on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
12. Works with control contractor to maintain the calibration of college equipment.
13. Works with Maintenance Coordinator and Engineers to design proper and desired college HVAC systems.
14. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
15. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
16. Other duties as assigned.
