Minimum Qualifications
- Required Education: Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communication, English, Graphic Design and/or specialized training/certification and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in marketing, graphic design, public relations or other related field
- Graphic design experience is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to adjust quickly while also paying acute attention to detail.
- Extremely well-organized, focused, and team player.
- Experience using marketing tools and software like Canva, email automation systems, Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of current and emerging social channels, trends, and best practices.

Summary

The Marketing Specialist for Sandhills Community College will report to the Marketing Director and work with other marketing department team members, senior staff, department heads, and community partners to support all functions of the marketing department including graphic design, copywriting/editing, printing, tradition and digital ad creation and advertising placement, social media support, and more. The ideal candidate is an excellent project manager and has a strong attention to detail and deadlines.
Essential Functions

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work as a collaborative team member in the Marketing Department to ensure proper marketing support for Sandhills Community College senior leadership, department heads, and other college staff as it relates to strategic plan goals.
- Design and/or create videos and image graphics for print and digital projects to meet specific promotional and advertising needs of the College.
- Designs, writes and edits collateral in support of community and recruitment activity.
- Assist with creating templates for letters and flyers for schools, to provide brand consistency of internal and external communications.
- Plan and execute community outreach events and coordinate presence at external community events to promote the strengths and successes of the College positively in coordination with the Director.
- Execute the advertising strategy set by the marketing director by managing ad vendors, timelines and budgets, and development and delivery of the ads to include messaging, ad sizing, etc.
- Develops promotional content for the college, including articles, feature stories, news stories, covering events, awards, and other college accomplishments for distribution via multiple communications channels (print, email, social media, web, etc.)
- Support the enforcement of brand and editorial standards.
- Collaborate with others as necessary to coordinate project details and ensure the successful completion of printed and online materials.
- Manage the main social media accounts to ensure consistency with messaging and deliverables on ad campaigns.
- Provide technical expertise to faculty, staff and administrators regarding graphics work requests.
- Photograph and/or video and report on events when assigned. (May include some evening/weekend events)
